  • Solution: Fan fix for 2140 running 10.5.6 (ideneb 1.3) If anyone has fan issues after doing the Version 1 install, you can download a newer ACPI Platform kext from. My fan didnt work at all after Version 1 install, now it does.

Install it by following the fan fix guide as provided at the end of guide Version 2.

  • 10.5.7 installed just fine, however.... The local keyboard and trackpad no longer work. Anyone run into this? The time updates correctly, so I know the OS is not frozen, just can't use any input devices. Firmware version is .12

  • Not working I posted the last item, and I think I may have found a fix. Look at your BIOS version. If it is 0.3, update to 0.5 (which apparently worked for this exact install). Easiest way to do that is go to hp, download and flash the bios from XP. I am currently reinstalling XP just to do that and will post again to let you know if it worked.

  • Small screen problems - can't see "Continue" button on welcome screen I have a HP Mini 1030NR, updated BIOS to F.13 (latest as of 5/23/09). I have all of the requisite software and things seem to work well until I come to the language screen. I can see all of the languages, but no blue arrow button. That's not a problem because I can double-click English to move to the next screen, but it does hint at the problem that ends up stopping me dead. After erasing my SSD, I can't get past the iDeneb welcome screen simply because I cannot see the "Continue" buttons and have no way of mousing down to see them. In other words, the resolution in the installer exceeds the Mini's screen resolution.

I have heard that there are ways one can blind navigate through the installation using the Tab, Space and Enter keys, but I am a little queasy about doing this.

Anyone have any thoughts about this? Do I just need to find a different version of iDeneb? (using unpatched V.1.3 of 10.5.5, btw)
